Hi! I’m Abigail. I’ve been naturally drawn to improving the space I live in since I was a little kid. Some of my fondest memories from my pre-teen years involve rearranging the furniture in my room…all on my own! In my early 20s this fascination with interior decorating and home DIY grew as I rented my first apartment, upgraded to renting duplexes, and then eventually bought a mid-century rambler with my husband in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This blog has been a dream of mine for several years. It first launched circa 2013 with the name “Furnishing Your Yellowbrick Road” (inspired by my Kansas City roots) and then quickly faded away as I shifted focus to my healthcare PR career and started graduate school in public health. That version of this blog is long gone, but I am bringing it back to life as what you see here: Emboldened Abode.
With it, I hope to inspire and “embolden” you to make your home your happiest, calmest, and most boldly *you* place on earth. It doesn’t take much to tastefully personalize a space, and I’m here to learn alongside you!
Here you will find:

Now let’s roll up our sleeves and get to it!
